USCIS Will Begin Accepting Applications Under the Expanded DACA Program on February 18, 2015
On January 30, 2015, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that they will begin accepting requests under the Expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) program starting February 18, 2015. That will be the first day to request DACA under the new guidelines established through President Obama’s recent immigration announcements.
Be careful to avoid immigration scams! Only work with an immigration attorney or a BIA-accredited representative, and never a “notario.”
NOTE: There is no application for the Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (“DAPA”) program yet. USCIS announced the DAPA application will be released mid-to-late May of 2015.
If you think you might be eligible for DACA under the revised guidelines, please contact Attorney Amanda Bahena at 712-722-5300 to schedule an appointment. There is Spanish-speaking assistance available in the afternoons.
