Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith Remembers Comet Haraldson
It is with much sadness that Woods, Fuller, Shultz and Smith recognizes the untimely passing of Comet Haraldson, in a tragic aviation accident, on January 13, 2019.
Comet attended the University of South Dakota, earning his BA and MA, before becoming a professional musician, performing throughout the Midwest and California. He returned to USD and graduated from law school in 1979, followed by a clerkship in Pierre. Comet joined Woods Fuller in 1980 as a litigation attorney, specializing in workers’ compensation law.
Comet was a member of the State Bar of South Dakota and a member and former secretary of the Second Circuit Bar Association. He served on the State Bar of South Dakota Worker’s Compensation Committee and appeared as a featured speaker at workers’ compensation seminars throughout the Midwest. Comet received numerous recognitions by “Best Lawyers”, “Chambers USA” and “Great Plains Super Lawyers”.
When not practicing law, he enjoyed music, playing the guitar, flying his own airplane and touring on motorcycles.
We are blessed to have worked with Comet. He will be missed as both a colleague and friend.
